Non-Stop Stop-Motion ist ein noch andauerndes künstlerisches Forschungsprojekt. Es steht an der Schnittstelle zwischen Video, Performance, Kunst und ‘expanded cinema’. Es untersucht den Alltag nach Illusionen, die in ihrer Essenz kinematografisch sind. Was passiert, wenn wir Alltagssituationen, Objekte, Räume und Handlungen für kinematografische Mechanismen umfunktionieren?

Während des Workshops werden wir Alltagsgegenstände und Handlungen einsetzen, um unvorhergesehene Geschichten zu ermöglichen, sie zu animieren und weiterzuentwickeln. Dadurch lässt sich besser verstehen, wie die Illusion des bewegten Bildes zustande kommt.

Non-Stop Stop-Motion is an ongoing practice-based artistic research project at the crossroads between: video, performance, fine arts, and the overarching area of expanded cinema. It investigates where we can find the essence of cinematic illusion when we look into everyday life, and what happens when we use everyday situations, objects, spaces and actions as cinematographic mechanisms.

During the workshop we will use everyday objects and actions, in order to cause and activate and reveal unexpected narratives and understandings of how we perceive the moving image illusions.

Kurzbio

Anna Vasof is an architect and media artist. Born in 1985, she studied architecture at the University of Thessaly (2010) in Greece and Transmedia Art (2014) at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. Since 2004 her videos and short movies have been presented in several festivals, some of them winning distinctions. She’s currently writing a Ph.D. thesis about an animation technique that she develops and at the same time working on designing and building innovative mechanisms for producing critical videos, actions and installations.
